Labor and Pluralism
The migrations of the last third of the 19th Century helped create the vast labor force of the early 20th Century. Migrants from Europe and Asia, internal migrants from the South and the East filled the booming metropolises of the Great Lakes.
By the early twentieth century, the legal system began to take notice of the development of organized labor amongst these workers, passing such legislation as Wisconsin’s Child Labor Law.
